I think it just means Cobain was so high that you can’t mess it up more than it already was.

Oh yeah. I remember my 7th grade science teacher being taken aback by me knowing the song, saying he couldn’t believe it was already a decade old. Here I am twenty years later with 7th grade students who still listen to Nirvana.
